2 Force teams in action on Saturday before Easter

In Puyallup, PNW Force 12U Birklid competed in the USSSA Crack the Egg Easter Classic one-day tournament. The first of two pool play games started out close, with Birklid’s pitcher throwing 9 strikeouts, but ended the morning with a loss. The second pool play game got away from them early and 12U ended up with a spot in the Bronze bracket. In the first bracket game, 12U fought hard and came back from a 6-1 deficit to tie the game. In the bottom of the fourth, they started off the inning with 2 singles then popped out and got caught stealing home after a walk. But with 2 outs, they hit a double to score 2 and earn the walk-off win! In the Bronze championship, they ran out of steam and came in second.

PNW Force 12U Rich traveled up to Everett to play in the USA Softball April Fool’s tournament. They kicked off pool play bright and early with back to back convincing wins, earning them a top spot in the Gold Bracket. The first round of bracket play saw them take on a tough opponent and come out with a close 5-3 victory. In the gold bracket championship, the score was tied as time expired, so we saw a full 7 inning game. 12U Rich had some amazing pitching with 14 strikeouts and only 1 walk. But with only 4 hits against their opponents 10, they couldn’t hold serve and lost by 2 in the championship.
