April kicked off with three PNW Force teams competing in the USSSA Queens of the Northwest tournament, battling stiff competition, and the weather.

Force 10U Naval had a strong day Saturday, going 2-0 and leading in the third game before it was cancelled due to heavy rain. They earned a high seed and a bye in the Gold bracket for Sunday. Another rain delay before their first bracket game forced Naval to play on a sticky field. They hung in there early but couldn’t keep up and lost in the semifinals.

The 12U division saw Force 12U Birklid with similar weather problems. On Saturday, Birklid went 1-2 in pool plays losing a couple really close games to some good teams. They closed out Saturday with a solid win. The weather was too much and Sunday’s bracket play was cancelled.

Brooklyn’s Force 16U were also in action in the 18 Open division at Queens of the Northwest. They busted out of the gates with a strong win and following that up with 2 more solid wins to be the only team to finish 3-0 and the number one seed going into Sunday. The first round of bracket play saw a tough opponent on a roll and they fell in the semifinals.
